The GSTIN number or the Goods and Services Tax Identification Number is a 15-digit numeric code provided to GST-registered business entities. This number has replaced the previously applicable Tax Identification Number (TIN), which business entities received upon registering under VAT.
The GSTIN is assigned based on the state in which a business entity is headquartered.
Several institutions in India now require you to submit your business’ GSTIN number as part of the documentation process when you apply for facilities such as a business loan.
Bajaj Finserv is one of the NBFCs that offer such loans with a competitive rate of interest rates and attractive terms.
The impact of GST on small and medium-sized businesses has been particularly noteworthy. Post-GST, this sector has faced multiple crises in terms of revenue generation.
However, several financial experts have come on record to confirm that GST is a work-in-progress and will arrive at its objectives in due time. Henceforth, if your organization falls into the criteria required for registration, consider availing a GSTIN number as early as possible.
